Volta Pads in collaboration with Samglokush foundation donated reusable sanitary pads to the pupils of Akatsavakpor basic school in the Ketu South municipality.
During the donation, Madam Roberta Donkor, the manageress of Volta Pads, taught the pupils how to use the reusable sanitary pads. She went ahead and demonstrated how the pad can be fixed and how it can be washed.
She further explained that the reusable sanitary pads can last for two years.
Mad. Roberta said the aim of Volta Pads is to end period poverty in Volta Region and Ghana at large.
Mad. Cecilia Dokli, the Ghana Education Service (GES) Girl Child coordinator in Ketu South who witnessed the donation thanked Samglokush foundation and Volta Pads for the donation. She said that for sometimes now, the pupils of Akatsavakpor absent themselves from school due to financial constraints during their menstruation period. She said she believes the reusable pads will assist the pupils a lot.
However, the assistant headmaster of Akatsavakpor M/A Basic School, Desmond Setor explained he was so amazed because he hasn’t seen a reusable sanitary pads before and the pad which can last for two years is very interesting.
The founder of Samglokush Foundation, Mr. Sam Kush expressed his heart felt gratitude to Amenuveve Volta Pads for partnering with Samglokush to end period poverty by donating reusable sanitary pads to the pupils.
In a nutshell, Mad. Rejoice Tsagli a teacher at the school and a pupil of Akatsavakpor Basic, Miss Eyram both thanked Volta Pads and Samglokush foundation for their kind donation.
